SubjectI think it’s a great product which I’m glad to register for.

Body

I believe you should be able to combine open source with commercial ventures. As Peter mentions the client scanner is a freeware (not free software, consequently not on OpenNTF) and in my opinion as long as registering means following good healthy marketing such as the recipient of advertisements has consented to receive it and so on there’s no harm.

I use the tool a lot and if it wasn’t at all available without paying to be able to run it legally - which DomainPatrol could decide to change to – I think it would be disappointing for the Notes community. I agree with Peter that organizations that rely on DomainPatrol for their administration and management of Notes databases need to feel the comfort of support and maintenance in planed releases.

Linux wouldn’t have been anything if nobody could earn some money (and I’m sure Linus Torvalds has to eat to).

Regards
Kim
