Banner Application links with Dropdown on Application Layout Control

Details
When using the Application Layout Control, it possible to have a Banner Application link that has a Dropdown list of options (much like that of the Place Actions)?
Seems like it allows the Container Node and Page link Node items but they don't work like the Place Actions do.
If this is possible, how?
If not, please consider this an enhancement requests.
