I think that you got it all wrong ... The part of DomainPatrol that is not open sourced is freeware if you run it from your workstation. it will still give you all functions that the licensed server version does - but not supported.

It is not always possible to license everything as open source even if that would be nice too. I hope that you will benefit from the fact that the scanner is still Free.
