SubjectFreeware, not free software?

Body

I guess my dictionary is out of date.

This is not Open Source, it's a commercial adventure hiding in the grass. The database has no function by itself. The whole concept of Open Source is to offer things free, and if the community feels the product is worth the effort, they may freely donate.

Linux has several free options (my favorite is Fedora). It costs nothing to me, but then I also support my installation, wait patiently for update/upgrades, and do not call upon the publisher for anything.

My argument is not whether this should "be able to combine open source with commercial ventures", it is whether this community should support the effort. DomainPatrol should be advertising their product as Ytria and others do, and not pretend that this is a free Open Source product.
