Description Task Management plugin for Lotus Notes sidebar In Catalog
No

Everybody juggles a multitude of tasks which at times are difficult to keep track of. It is especially difficult for people in managerial roles to keep track of all the tasks of their staff. Tasks are distributed across many applications: Personal task management applications, CRM systems, project management tools, help-desk systems or workflow applications. Task Management is a simple tool to keep track of an individual's and their team members' tasks. With one click the task is opened in the source application, be it via web browser or the IBM Lotus Notes client. If more than one person is involved, tasks are listed in a combined view from through which team members can communicate with each other via chat or e-mail.

Task Management can be integrated with IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5 (or higher) in addition to the IBM Lotus Notes 8.x sidebar. Task Management is based on a flexible webservice architecture. This means application which provides a webservice can be connected. The deployment of Task Management is very easy. The tool can be provided as a plug-in on a web server. The users can integrate the tool directly from the server. In addition Task Management provides a configuration dialog in which users can define applications to be integrated.

The project consists of two parts: First, the plugin and second an installation application for the plugin. With this application the user can install the plugin without using the standard menu options of the Lotus Notes client. The application contains a composite application with the integrated plugin. From the composite application the plugin will be installed.

History
The development of Task Management started two years ago at PAVONE (http://www.pavone.com). The requirement was to build a tool for IBM Lotus Sametime or the IBM Lotus Notes sidebar which can be connected to tasks in other applications. A webservice architecture was chosen to be able to connect to applications outside of IBM Lotus Notes.

Projects can have short and readable URLs, e.g. http://mobilecontrols.openntf.org.

You can request a short URL to your project by sending a mail to support at openntf dot org. Put the word 'OpenNTF' somewhere in the subject.
Owners are the people with maximal rights. For example they can create releases and add more contributors.

In order to define multiple owners use "," (comma) as separator.

Because of data privacy you cannot lookup other people's names but you have to type them in.
Enter the contributors or owners here who you want to receive notifications and questions by email.

In addition to the owners additional OpenNTF contributors have to be listed here. Contributors don't have the same access rights as owners, e.g. they cannot create releases.

Enter a short description of the project here (up to 100 characters).

The short description shows up in the project UI and in some of the views.
In this field you should enter a more detailed description of your project.

You can use the rich text editor for rich text formating. You can also enter HTML to embed objects, e.g. to embed a YouTube video or a screenshot of the project. In this case use '[' and ']' to mark the passthrough HTML as such.

Please note that the first time you use the new UI your description is converted from rich text to MIME. You might want to copy and paste the raw plain text from the old UI in the new UI so that you don't loose information.
A Catalog Release is for projects that are production ready and that are end-user "install friendly".

This property describes whether any release of this project has been added to the catalog.
