    This document describes the guideline where to place actions.

    Motivation

    Actions can be placed in various objects of the application, e.g. forms and views and in the Action Menu of the Notes client. But to achieve a consistency in usage, which improves the look an feel of the application, the placement must be well-considered.

    Example / Details

    Database actions

    An action that can be regarded as a database action is a function to create a
    local replica of the application on the same location as it has on the server.

    These actions are agents that are invoked via the Action Menu of the Notes
    client or through an outline entry visible in a page or form.

    Form action

    Form actions are actions that are included in the action section of a form and
    are associated with the activities that a user performs on a document.

    Folder and View actions

    Folder and view actions are actions that are included in the action section of
    the folder or the view, and are associated with the activities that a user
    performs from the folder or view or on the entries in the folder or view.
