About document
Description
See Example field for general layout. The information required here is self-explanatory. All sections are mandatory; while they may not require extensive information, they must hold some information.
Motivation
A standard 'About This Database' document will be used as a quick reference point for some general information regarding the application.
Example / Details
The About document should contain the following information:
Database version number
Application information
Application description
Intended users
Required Training
Access provided via groups
User Technical requirementsExcept of the version number, all information will be stored in documents. When
the documentation type of a rich text configuration document is 'About
information', the document will appear in the 'About database' view. So it is
possible to add additional information to the 'About This Database' document of
your database.
Example:
The Database version number
The version number of the database should be added directly in the about
information. This will assure that it is always visible in the design of the
database or template. This is the only information that will be hardcoded in
the design.
It is important to disable the option 'Do not allow design refresh/replace to
modify', to assure version number refreshment when a new design is distributed.
