• Problem installing latest version f the Ext Lib

By martin meijer 1 decade ago

When I try to install the latest version of the Ext Lib I get an error: "CWPPR0033E: The requested provisioning opeations are cancelled". I made a short video so you can see what I'm doing. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong. Here is the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMF6dQAcii4&context=C31280a4ADOEgsToPDskITL2MViG4N8FFe2tH310cY

      hi martin,

Do you already have a version of the extension library installed in your client? UP1 maybe or an old version of the extension library from OpenNTF? Is there any more information on the error in the logs under the Notes/Data/ IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT ? If you do happen to have UP1 installed, uninstall it via the control panel first before you go and install the latest OpenNTF version.

      regards,

      Padraic

      • Problem installing latest version of the Ext Lib

By martin meijer 1 decade ago

        Hello Padraic,

Yes I have allready version 853.2111221-0529b installed. Can you tell me how I must do an uninstall so I can try a clean install of the newer version? Is it an option to delete Notes and do a reinstall and then try the latest version (I do not prefere this, but if there is no other option I will do that).

I looked in the directory Notes/Data/ IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT and there are a couple of files. Which file is the one I am looking for? I opend them one by one but I don't see anything related to this problem I think.
        Regards, Martin

        • uninstall instructions

By Padraic Edwards 1 decade ago

          Hi martin,

To uninstall the previous version of extension library, do the following.

          1. File->Application->Application Management

          2. Expand c:\program files\IBm\Lotus\Notes\Data\workspace\applications\eclipse

          3. Highlight the following features ->  Apache Wink, Domino Access Services, Domino Wink, Xpages Extension Library feature and Extended components library. The right click and choose uninstall. You should be prompted to restart your client.

Try the above and then try to re-install the latest version and let me know how it goes. if you get an error still, its actually the logs in C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data\workspace\logs that you should look, attach the trace log if you encounter an error.

          thanks,

          Padraic

By martin meijer 1 decade ago

I followed the intstructions an did an uninstall of the excisting (old) ext lib installation. Then I tried again to install the latest ext lib but I had the same problem as before. Then I tried to install the ext lib I uninstalled, but without succes, same error as the new ext. lib. I attached the tracelogs so you can have a look at this.

            Regards, Martin

            • Can you try the following

By Padraic Edwards 1 decade ago

              Hi Martin,

The trace log points to a SWT error but is not very specific. Just wondering are you able to install any other update site? For example could you try install the file navigator just to see if it installs or fails like the extension libraries http://www.openntf.org/internal/home.nsf/releases.xsp?action=openDocument&name=File%20Navigator&documentId=8DE3995653D7C68886257648001F8A2E .

If it fails , you could try backing up your workspace directory under Notes/Data/workspace , just rename it. Restart notes and it will re-generate the workspace directory and try install the extension library again. If you can attach all of the log files (both error and trace) if none of the above works, that would be great.

              thanks,

              Padraic

              • Tried a lot,but still a problem,I'm a little bit desperate now

By martin meijer 1 decade ago

                Hello Padraic,

                This is what I tried:

                1. I tried to install the filenavigator with no succes, I have the same error as with the installation of the Ext. Lib.

                2. I made a backup of my workspace directory, then I restarted notes and a new workspace directory was generated. Then I tried again to install the Ext. Lib. but with no success. Still the same problem.

                3. I backuped my names.nsf and my desktop8.ndk. Then I did an uninstall of Notes. I rebooted my machine, then I runned a regcleaner just to make sure there is nothing left in the reg. of windows. I installed 8.5.3. again and then I tried to install the Ext. Lib. again. No success, the same error.

                4. I uninstalled Notes, deleted my datadirectory also, deleted my virusscanner (AVG) and rebooted my machine. I installed 8.5.3. again and tried to install the Ext. Lib. No success still the same problem.

I'm out of options now I hope you can help. I attached the logfiles from both before and after the new installation.

                Kind Regards,

                Martin

                • check these settings please

By Padraic Edwards 1 decade ago

                  Hi Martin,

From looking at the logs, I see errors about a feature not being signed.

Could you tell me what settings you have in your plugin_customization.ini file.

                  Its located in c:\framework\rcp\plugin_customization.ini.

You should have the following settings

                  com.ibm.rcp.security.update/VERIFICATION_LISTENER=com.ibm.rcp.security.update.DefaultVerificationListener
                  com.ibm.rcp.security.update/EXPIRED_SIGNATURE_POLICY=PROMPT
                  com.ibm.rcp.security.update/UNTRUSTED_SIGNATURE_POLICY=PROMPT
                  com.ibm.rcp.security.update/UNSIGNED_PLUGIN_POLICY=PROMPT

Can you change the bottom 3 from "PROMPT" to "ALLOW" . If your values are different to the ones above can you tell me what they are. Restart Notes

and try to install the extension library again.

                  thanks,

                  Padraic

                  • Found the solution!!!

By martin meijer 1 decade ago

                    Hello Padraic, I found it!

I tried  all the things you mentioned but without success, but what I understand is that it must be something with permissions. I have three laptops and all of them are running on windows 7. Installing the Ext. Lib. worked on one laptop, on the other two it didn't work. Beside of that I work with 6 differtent NotesIDs on 5 differtent Domains. I thought lets try with all the differtent ID's to install the Ext. Lib. and that helped! With one of the IDs the install was succesfull. I always thougt that because the client is on local that this could not be an issue but it seems very important. Is there a way to configure that it is alway possible to install the Ext Library no matter what ID you are using?

                    Regards Martin
