This is probably related to the table-parsing bug that I others have reported. Using non-alphanumeric characters ( ()#/+: ) breaks parsing and rendering of bulleted lists and numbered lists (including nested lists).



The same happens with the parsing of bold and italics as well. I'm going to assume that these are all related to a common parsing problem, so I'll quit posting all the places I find that the symbols don't work until I get some feedback saying that it's not a single problem! :)
