• integration with cygwin

By Albert Roos 2 decades ago

I have a working version of spamassassin and c:\cygwin\bin is in my path statement but the notes agent can't find spamassassin? It looks like the notes server not uses the path environment variable. If i use spamc.exe from the c:\windows\system32 dir it is executed but wil contact spamd while pasting the command string from the agent in a dosbox spamc.exe is correctly processing and contacting spamd.

It works now in serialize mode with sawin32 spamassassin.exe and it works very neat, but this is quite slow. spamc is still expirimental, but could not find why cmd is working and not the notes agent.

    • no cygwin needed

You don't need Cygwin to run spamc.exe, you can just use the one included with SAwin32. As long as it is in the PATH environment variable it will be fine. Make sure you set the SpamAssassin Integration option to specify that you want to run "spamc.exe" and not "spamc". And if you make any changes to environment variables, you need to restart Domino.

Thanks for your answer, i mentioned that it worked with sawin32 so there is no problem, but with cygwin and perl with cpan updating to the latest release is possible that is why i preferred it.

And as far as i understand the principle of the solution cygwin should also work.

After a reboot domino and/or the agent did not find spamassassin while it was in the path, when i copied it to c:\windows\system32 folder it worked.

Keep up the good work and have a nice day.
