• Filetype/Extension

I was able activate the Winmail Extractor, after a mail arrives.

I know my winmaildat contains a pdf, but i get two files without any extension back.

When the datfiles contains excel files i get file.xls back..

Is there any restriction or what do i wrong ?

    Example

Your e-mail has been processed by the Winmail Extractor database with a status of: Successful Extraction

    ===============================================

Here are the files that were extracted from the *.dat attachments

    • attachment2 - message1.rtf

    • Try opening the winmail.dat file in another program

Hard to tell what might be going on there. Try opening the winmail.dat attachment in another TNEF extraction program (like Fentun – http://www.fentun.com ) and see if you get the same results.

We have the same problem here.

I get back an attachment without name and filetype.

Fentun does it right. Any suggestions?

      • Not sure. Maybe try the latest version of JTNEF?

You might want to try the latest release of JTNEF in the script library to see if that works better. Between the version in this database (1.2.2) and the current version (1.3.10 there were several enhancements and bug fixes, including a new option to ignore checksum errors:

        http://www.freeutils.net/source/jtnef/index.jsp

        Just do the following:

        1. Make a copy of the current "JTNEF Library" script library, for backup
        2. Open the "JTNEF Library" script library
        3. Click the "Edit Project" button at the bottom of the screen
        4. Select the "tnef.jar" file and click the "Delete" button
        5. Save and close the script library
        6. Re-open the script library
        7. Click "Edit Project" and attach the latest tnef.jar file from your local hard drive
        8. Save and close again

The reason you have to save and close after you delete the library in step 4 is because Domino sometimes doesn't realize that you've replaced the old library with a new one if you don't save and close first. I have no idea why.

In any case, see if that helps.

I did that but nothing changed - same problem.
