• Exception Thrown

By S Cannon 1 decade ago

Have just started using this. I had been defragmenting folders first and had no problems. Tool runs great. Later in the day, I manually set the defrager to defrag the quickplace folder container all of our quickplaces. Ran for a while and drfragged a bunch. In the middle of the night, I found this in the log:

    02/09/2010 02:03:36 AM DominoDefrag: quickplace\networkteam\pagelibrary85256ee50043e097.nsf (2) Below Start Point

02/09/2010 02:03:36 AM DominoDefrag: quickplace\networkteam\pagelibrary85256ee50043e097.ft Directory does not exist

    02/09/2010 02:03:37 AM DominoDefrag: quickplace\networkteam\search.nsf Already Defragmented

    02/09/2010 02:03:37 AM DominoDefrag: quickplace\networkteam\search.ft (2.04255) Below Start Point

02/09/2010 02:03:37 AM DominoDefrag: Main -> Exception thrown! Error: File does not exist

Any idea what the cause of the error is and what I can do to fix? I looked and there is a full text folder and it's not empty.

Very strange. What happens when you go

      load dominodefrag quickplace\networkteam\

That worked fine. The next morning I did load dominodefrag quickplace\networkteam and it defragged all the docs in folder (there were only a few databases in there) with no problems. I have it set to do ft indexes and it did those as well. Then I did the next folder and the next. No problems. So I don't know if it was a one time thing or not. I'll try and do the entire quickplace folder again today. My verbose debug level is set at 1. Is there a higher setting or anything else I can do to gather info for you?

          Also….

The VerboseLogging=1 is the only option at this stage. I'm planning to release version 2.2 this weekend with better error checking and reporting when a file can't be accessed and the task will also continue processing to the next file (it stops completely at the moment).

          • Ran without problems

By S Cannon 1 decade ago

I ran against the entire folder which contains all our quickplaces and it ran without a problem.

I'm curious on one thing: What exactly is the starting point? Is that the number of fragments in a particular file?

            Thanks for the help.

            • Starting point is....

By Andrew Luder 1 decade ago

If nothing specified ….. All subfolders and .nsf/.ntf files under the data folder in ascending order - e.g. starting with "aaa.ntf" and ending with "www/zzz.nsf"

If folder specified…… All subfolders and .nsf/.ntf files under the specified folder in ascending order - e.g. starting with "networkplace\ccc\aaa.nsf" and ending with ""networkplace\xxx\zzz.nsf"

If DominoDefrag_FTIndex=1, then after a database/template is defragged, the task immediately looks for the existance of a FTINdex folder and defrags its contents - e.g. after defragging "networkplace\ccc\aaa.nsf" looks to defrag of all files and subfolders under the "networkplace\ccc\aaa.ft" folder.

Hope this sheds a bit more light.

Makes sense. Program is running well. I'm going to download the new version and we're going to add it to a couple of more servers. we've already noticed improvement in response times on our Intranet server and we haven't even gotten it completely up and running.
