• Did a test run

    By Ronald Veldhuizen 1 decade ago

    On a 2003 server with Domino 8.0.2. DominoDefrag is running, but the only thing I can see it's doing is scanning the files and nothing more. Installed as described.

    I ran it from the console. (Load DominoDefrag)

    The percent of defragmentation is the same as before the DominoDefrag. How to get this running in the right way?

    • server console/log.nsf output

      By Andrew Luder 1 decade ago

      Are you at least seeing minimal output in the server console/log.nsf? For example:

      13/04/2009 01:33:48 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf Started Defrag

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf Completed Defrag

      If yes the targetted file (nsf or ntf) is already on 1 fragment then no defragmentation is required and it equates to:

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf File Size -> 2359296 bytes

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf Before Fragments -> 1

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf After Fragments -> 1

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf Completed Defrag

      If defragementation was occurring you should see:

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf File Size -> 2359296 bytes

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf Before Fragments -> 5

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf After Fragments -> 1

      13/04/2009 01:33:55 PM DominoDefrag: teamrm6.ntf Completed Defrag

      Does that help?

        Oeps… :-( Couldn't believe it, but two of my servers didn't have fragmentation in the data dir.

        Got me another server.. and voila got fragmentation! Ran perfect, this is a Windows 2008 core with Domino 8.5 hf1.

        Thanks for this great program !
