• Extension Library

By Neil J McMillan 1 decade ago

I have just removed the update pack from our server and my designer client and installed the latest extension library via the updatesite method.  There were no errors during installation on the server or client.

When Opening a database in a browser I am now getting the following error message.

Cannot find the library com.ibm.xsp.extlibx.library, required by the application/databases/xp_landingpage.nsf.

Checking the server console this is what has been loaded.

    • Library dependencies...

By Tony McGuckin 1 decade ago

      Hi Neil,

Can you double check that the correct library dependencies are checked in the Application Properties -> Advanced tab.

      Thanks,

      Tony

      • Extension library Install

By Neil J McMillan 1 decade ago

        Yes they are

As an aside, how come there are now two? Prior to me doing this change the only option was com.ib.xsp.extlib.library

Just to be thorough I cleaned he application, restarted designer and the server, still did not work.

Checked the log and found this error

Not sure if this has any relation to the problem?

        Thanks

          • Suggestions...

By Neil J McMillan 1 decade ago

            Hi,

Do you think you could let me know if this is likely to get looked at soon? The server has been unavailable for over two days which is making me very unpopular.

Appreciate it if you could me know when you think someone might be able to provide a fix, or not, so I can make a call about reverting back to the update pack.

            Thank you.

            • Updatesite signature...

By Tony McGuckin 1 decade ago

              Hi Neil,

It sounds like the signature of updatesite.nsf might be the cause of the issue.

Can you follow these instructions when creating the update site. http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/XPages_Extension_Library_Deployment

The db needs to be signed by an administrator of the server.

This sounds like the main problem:
CLFAD0331W: NSF Based plugin contribution denied because signer does not
              have required access: :UpdateSite.nsf

              Thanks,

              Tony

              • Signer

By Neil J McMillan 1 decade ago

                Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. Those are the instructions I followed and the signer should have had access. However I have just asked the administrator to sign updatesite.nsf and the same error is returned. Any more ideas?

                Thanks

                • now working

By Neil J McMillan 1 decade ago

                  FYI

The Administrator recreated updatesite.nsf from the template and the plugins are now loading. I have Full Admin access to the dev server(where I am trying to install via updatesite.nsf) so do not understand why it would not work for me.

                  Thanks

                  • Good to hear...

By Tony McGuckin 1 decade ago

                    Hi Neil,

The next suggestion was to be a complete circle back to square one...!  I can't say either, but perhaps one or more design elements were not signed with the correct signature.

Anyhow, good to hear you are sorted - feel free to follow up with any additional queries or issues you see in this area.

                    Thanks,

                    Tony
