• Using Internal Roles

By Matjaž Močnik 1 decade ago

I followed your tutorial on how to use Internal Roles to hide access to certain parts of application.

I created a new internal role (UPORABNIKI) and added a user.

    Under (TESTROLE) I added myself.

Then, on keywords, under Navigation\Main\UserViewsMain1 I added fourth parameter, like this:

    New By User##16x16_People.gif#TestRole

    New By Date##16x16_Calendar01.gif#Uporabniki

    ($Memo)##16x16_Calendar01.gif#TestRole

Now, if I understand correctly, I should view only the first and third view, while group UPORABNIKI should view only second view.

I tried to close and reopen application, and Lotus Notes.

I have Lotus Notes 7.0.2, domino server 7.0.2.

This also doesn't work on web (nice GUI, bytheway).

    Bye, Matjaz

    • Perhaps I installed it the wrong way

By Matjaž Močnik 1 decade ago

The problem I posted appeared, if I used your .nsf file as a database.

Then I also tried to create a new DB, copied all documents from original, unchanged
.nsf file. I then added a role ADMIN and myself as member of that role.

Then I marked original NSF file as template, the newly created was marked as client for template.

I then did a "Refresh Database Design".

After this I can't choose language, Configuration menu is empty, …

Is there any tutorial on how to install this app?

      • Hmm..

Ok, with SHIFT+CTRL+F9 I got the new database to work.

But the problem still remains, I still can't hide navigation menus or views..

        • Did you write the role really this way?

(Rolename)? because if you did you have to write it in the definition documents for the views the same way too.

And you should use the "Action/CacheConfigViews" too when changing something in the configuration.
