• Wrong timezone ?

By Steven Clements 1 decade ago

When I use GooCalSync, the data from my Lotus Notes Calendar gets loaded to my Google Calendar one hour ahead of when the entry is in my Lotus Notes calendar.

I.e. a meeting from 9am to 10am in my Lotus Notes calendar appears as 10am to 11am.

The Time zone on my PC is Eastern Time (and currently observing Daylight Savings Time).

The Time zone in my google calendar is set to Eastern (and the time bar is in the correct place, so it looks ok).

How can I load my Notes Calendar to Google Calendar, and get the timings correct?

    Thanks,

    Steven Clements

    • Currently GooCalSync can't handle DST.

By Muneyuki Ohkawa 1 decade ago

      Thank you for testing GooCalSync.

Currently DST is not considered by GooCalSync.

I'm willing to support DST in next version 0.919.

But I'm very busy this week, so I will start to implement next week.

Please be patient for a while and give it a try again.

      Thanks.

Thanks!, that's great news. I like this very much :)

This is an excellent program and I, too, really benefit from it. However, I have seen the same problem with the timezone offset so I look forward to your next update.

    • good tool

By Craig Boudreaux 1 decade ago

Just gave this tool a try. Looks great!

However, I'll be interested in the timezone/DST support as well. (Even if it means I have to pick my own offset from GMT.)

    • Wrong timezone also affecting all day events?

By Stuart White 1 decade ago

I too am seeing the one hour offset problem, so look forward to you being able to spend some time on it. I have also noted that all of my whole day events start and end a dat later than they should. i.e. an event on the 25th gets synced as an event on the 26th.

Nice start to this though - a much better approach than using iCal - and a lot quicker than some that I have seen using web access.

      Keep up the good work.

      Stuart

      • Now working on it.

I'll post new version in this week.

        Thank you for your patience.

I'm running over the same problem (4 hours dif).

Is there any news about it?

      • Do you use v0.919 ?

By Muneyuki Ohkawa 1 decade ago

        Hi,

        Thank you for your testing.

        Do you use v0.919 ?

        If not, please try it.

v0.919 could handle timezone properly as well as daylight saving time.

But Steven reported the error using v0.919. Now I ask him more information.

It would be appreciated if you would report the result of v0.919.

        Thanks in advance.

        Muneyuki.

          Hi Muneyuki.

          Tks for your answer…

YES, I do use v0.919, but I realized that for some days it doesn't happends.

For example. I've a meeting that occurs every friday util december/2009 at 7:00pm. For some days the timezone is Ok, for other it's wrong (like 4 hours before, 1 hour later, etc).

          • Let me know not-synch pattern

By Muneyuki Ohkawa 1 decade ago

            Hi, Andre again.

I'd like to know the pattern where time is not properly set.

             1. Notes to Google, or , Google to Notes

             2. Recurrence calendar, All day event, or every type of calendar.

             3. If recurrence calendar, recurrence pattern, all day or part of it,

             4. Or any difference.

            Thank you for your cooperation.

            Best regards.

              Hi,

I just installed GooCalSync, it is almost perfect… I just have a time zone pb.

               1. Notes to Google, or , Google to Notes

It happens when I sync from Notes to Google

               2. Recurrence calendar, All day event, or every type of calendar.

All day events are moved one day before, and all other, normal, and recurring event have a 2 hours dela, after ( if 2 oclock in notes, it is a 4 oclock on google)

               3. If recurrence calendar, recurrence pattern, all day or part of it,

I have two kinds of patterns, weekly and annuel, same result for both

               4. Or any difference.

              Good luck

              Mulb

I forgot to tell that I am in GMT +2, Paris.

Perhaps it does not take into account that my Notes calendar is also in GMT+2

                Regards

                Mulb

    • Timezone problem

By Radek J 1 decade ago

      Hello!

      Sorry for my english.

I have this same problem. My timezone in Lotus is Central/Western Europe (GMT +01:00) and google calendar too (Warsaw GMT +01:00). But after synchronization Lotus->Google meeting in google is one hour later in v0.918 and two hours later in v0.919.

Also this is very good project!.

      • I could reproduce it.

By Muneyuki Ohkawa 1 decade ago

        Hi, Radik

I could reproduce what you said.

This is a bug regarding DST (a.k.a Summer Time).

Now I'm working on it and will post it as v0.920.

DST and timezone handling is very difficult and test is time consuming one.

Currently I'm very busy in my work ….

        Be patient, please.

        Muneyuki.
