• Some wishes for custom database

By Martin Gasteiger 1 decade ago

    Hello,

very nice project Ferry. I use the plugin with a custom database and have some wishes at the moment:

    1. Could you please insert a field to display the fax number.

    2. If i search for a person, the search is case sensitive at the moment. A option to disable case sensitive would be nice.

    3. It would be good, if i can see if somebody is online or not (sametime). With an icon or a background color.

    4. In my database i have a field named "Icon". This field contains an icon name, which is in the database. The icon tells us, if a person is in the company at the moment or not.  Would it be possible to configure a field that shows the content as an icon ?

      sure, no problem

great idea, will fix this in next release

I need to install a sametime server myself because I'm not using it. Do the chat functions currently work? I think it should be possible to see if somebody is online or not, I'll check it out.

It is a very specific question. I'm thinking of supporting a user photo in the plugin so maybe I could extent that feature so you can display an icon instead of a user photo. But this idea will only work when the icon field is a embedded rich text field containing an image/ or complete url link to the image in the database (if the app is web accessable). There are always possibilities but I need some more info before I can implement something like this in te plugin.
