• Log Mail Count and Size Sent&Received per User

By Clayton McDaniel 2 decades ago

Scan the logs and parse the mail size and break down on a per user basis. Feature would now track the amount of mail a single user sends and receives daily, and tracks the size to determine how "Heavy" of a mail user they are.

Create a document per users to track this information, and updated on find.

    • Log mail count

      Hi Clayton,

First of all sorry for the delay of my answer but I'm very busy those days, so I don't have a lot of time to work on MailAnalysis.

The main problem I see to implement your request is that there is no informations about size or users in the logs…. and we're only analysing the content of the logs !

And for the moment, MailAnalysis is only for incoming SMTP mail traffic.

We can imagine to analyse outgoing SMTP traffic, but as I said before, there is no informations regarding the sender in the logs.

I'm not a high level admin, but I think there is a way to have the informations you asked for using the domino administrator functions.

Can someone confirm this is correct or not ?

      Thanks

      Renaud

        Hi Renaud,

Domino generates the info requested by Clayton when the logging level is bumped up to at least Informational.

Since Mailanalysis making a pass through the log, it would be nice to optionally collect the additional info.

        Regards,

        Larry
