• Copy&Deny does not work

By Joerg Doehrer 2 decades ago

In the deny rules the action copy and deny does not work. The single action copy and the single action deny work but copy and deny doesn't.

Has no one an idea to solve this problem?

          Hi,

If you can reproduce this, can you turn on debugging so we can see if there are errors in the logs,

          thanks,

Where can I find the logs?

            • notes.ini settings

By Tom Lyne 2 decades ago

You must enable the debugging first with the notes.ini variable KS_DEBUG=1 (or in the config document).

The log file will be created after the next restart, it is named ks_debug.txt

By Joerg Doehrer 2 decades ago

I user has set the parameter and restartet the server but ther is no ks_debug.txt.

I was there last week and can give you more informations about the problem. If a spam mail arrives in domino there appears the message in the console that the mail is copied and denied. But the mail is not in the spammail database and also not in the mailgood database. So the user can not find the mail and can not see whether the mail was spam or not.

By Tom Lyne 2 decades ago

                  Is the email disappearing completely?

I really need that ks_debug.txt file; when you added the KS_DEBUG=1 entry to the notes.ini, did you add a carriage return (i.e. new line) after it?

                  • By Joerg Doehrer 2 decades ago

Yes there is a new line behind the last entry in notes.ini. I have looked by myself there is no ks_debug file only a ks_log.txt. Do you want this file?

Sorry, that's my fault, I should have given you the new name - ks_log.txt,

Can you post the contents of it after you have reproduced this error,

Have you got a kSpamAdministrators group? You need this when this setting is enabled.

I must ask the customer. I think there is only a admin group for the whole domino. I have some questions about this:

                                1. Why does kSpam need a special group?
                                2. Can the normal admin be added in this group or must it be a special admin account for kspam?
                                3. What are the next steps after creating this kspam admin group. It is enough to addthis group in acl or must this group be added in the configuration document in any field? Or maybe in an agent?

Sorry for the many questions I have :)

                                  1. Why does kSpam need a special group?

The regular "administrators" groups might not be appropriate in everyone's organisation, so we created a new group name. Currently the name is hardcoded.

If you don't need the "readers" setting (i.e. if you don't have the users viewing the spam database) you can turn it off and you won't need the kSpamAdministrators group.

                                  2. Can the normal admin be added in this group or must it be a special admin account for kspam?

                                    That's up to you.

                                  3. What are the next steps after creating this kspam admin group. It is enough to addthis group in acl or must this group be added in the configuration document in any field? Or maybe in an agent?

You should add it to the spam and ham database ACLs.

After creating a the special admin group the function seems to work correctly now. Thanks for your help.

Now our customer has a question:

A good mail was detected as spam and the customer switched it into the goodmail.nsf. He thought when he has switched the mail that this mail would be provided to the receiver. Is there a possibility to make mails which are detected as spam and then switched to goodmail available for the receiver or is the mail deleted and must be send again?

You can move the message to the mail.box db to have it resent. You can edit the action button to make this happen automatically.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but kSpam log indicates:

        ks_bayesian_prep_2 enabled, allow msg

I want to keep the prep_2 because that way you always have the latest spam patterns, I would rather remove the oldest if the size is becoming a problem.
