Swiper version 2 is here!

Please note: Version 2 requires a minimum version of Domino Designer 9.0.1 FP8
If you are using a Designer version before FP8, then you should contiune to use swiper version 1.0.2

There are 2 main features added in Swiper version 2

1) Swiper now makes use of a new 'Sync Listener' functionality in Designer 9.0.1 FP8. This allows Swiper to swipe metadata to all import/ export operations. Previously without this SyncListener there were certain situations that swiper could not get involved in, resulting in some unfiltered files.

2) There is some handy toolbar buttons which allow to act on the current project.

  • Sync Projects
  • Refresh ODP Only
  • Refresh ODP and then Sync
  • Launch ODP Folder with System explorer

In the beta version, a serious bug was discovered when using a toolbar button to Sync. This could cause deletion of design elements. This bug should be fixed with this 2.0.1 release.

The bug was caused by
1) triggering a sync
2) selecting a different project whilst the sync had not completed
This caused the sync to get confused with the projects that it should be syncing.

The bug has been fixed by reverting to the normal behaviour of the sync which is to block the user interface. This prevents changing the selected projects

Installation Upgrade Instructions

If you are installing Swiper for the first time:

  • Download Swiper v2.0.1 release and install to designer using File -> Application Management -> Install (remember to restart Designer afterwards)
  • 'Add Swiper' from any projects that you want to use swiper on
  • Check that it is swiping your metadata whenever you sync!

If you are upgrading your version of Swiper:

  • Download Swiper v2.0.1 release and install to designer using File -> Application Management -> Install (remember to restart Designer afterwards)
  • 'Remove Swiper' and then 'Add Swiper' from any projects currently using swiper Basically, the 'remove' will remove the old builders that are no longer needed, then 'add' will re-enable the new version.
  • Check that it is swiping your metadata whenever you sync!
