• Setup Question

Congratulations on a very sharp-looking application.

In the Using this Database document, there are the following setup instructions:

    1. Create a new empty database

    2. Copy all documents from the config view and language settings view to the database

    3. Choose "Database - Change Design" to update the design of your recent created database.

For #2, do you mean copy the helpdesk.ntf template to the new empty database?

In English, the options available for #3 are Database - Refresh Design or Database - Replace Design. From the context, I'd guess replace is intended. Is that correct?

I created a new version of the db from the template and it appears to work. Is there some reason I shouldn't create the help database that way?

Also, what is the purpose of the forms.ntf database that's included with the project?

      Thanks,

      Bruce Perry

Number 3 is wrong if you created a new database. Also Number 2 is not needed then because all the configuration documents are right there. These Instructions will come handy if you do an update ofr the database with the coming new version.

The Forms.ntf Database contains a Form that could be used by your Users to create Reports where some data is sampled from the underlying system if it is a Windows System. The Form integrated here is available only in german and englisch and is not multilanguage enabled. So if your users do only use mail to enter reports into Help there is no need to install forms.ntf
