• send email to administrator nag stuck in loop

By sean cull 1 decade ago

I went to open the template from a zip and got an error

    IBM Lotus Notes

    ---------------------------

Notes error: Cannot write or create file (file or disk is read-only) (UserProfile)

    ---------------------------

    OK

    ---------------------------

This was fine but then the Notes code kicked in

    ---------------------------

Error "Notes error: Cannot write or create file (file or disk is read-only)" occured

    ---------------------------

    An error has occured.

Notes error: Cannot write or create file (file or disk is read-only)

    Error number: #4000/ Line: 93

    Procedure: "INITIALIZE"

Do you want to inform the administrator?

    ---------------------------

    Yes No

    ---------------------------

    2 Issues

    1) I had to crash my Notes to get out

    2) people will find the idea of auto email back functionality in a password store to be a bit unsettling even if it is harmless.

Looking forward to trying the system though, thanks for posting it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce this error, thus I have to guess:

Did you change the ACL? Which access level, roles and rights does your user have?

Is the nsf file writeable (on OS level)?

DB on client or server? Which OS? Which Notes version(s)?

I know, you are an experienced Notes expert, but please recheck the basics. Sometimes... ;-)
