• Follow-up - Posting to Connections losing URL

By Matthew J Hall 1 decade ago

Hi Andrew - in response to a another discussion HERE, you outlined how to add the Connections profiles URL to the WildFire plug in w/in Lotus Notes.  I've done that by setting up this URL:  http://w3.ibm.com/connections/ but have noticed that my URL specified gets written over with this: http://w3.ibm.com/connections/activities after I restart my Lotus Notes.  Any idea(s) as to why that happens?

I have to then go adjust the URL to get it working correctly which is a slight annoyance.

    Thanks,

    Matthew

      Hi Matthew,

Apologies for the delay.  We have been busy on other projects.

      Are you using WildFire 1.5.1?

WildFire should never modify the Connections URL you provide while it is using it.

The only thing that could be happening is if you originally typed in the URL with/activities on the end (in a previous version of WildFire), the old preference file from that version might be being imported on start-up and over-writing the new account details.  This is because we changed the way settings are stored.  The import should only happen once as the old file is renamed to .old, but if the rename is failing for some reason then this file would be imported on each startup.

Search your system for a file called StatusUpdaterConfig.xml and rename it to StatusUpdaterConfig.xml.old and see if this fixes it.

      Regards,

      Andrew
