• DominoDefrag does not work with files containing Umlaute (ü,ä,ö)

By Patrick P Schneider 1 decade ago

We have some mail-databases which do not get deframented when we use DominoDefrag. It looks like DominoDefrag can't handle Umlaute (ue[ü], ö[oe], ä[ae]) in filenames.

Running contig from commandline with the databasefilename works fine (although contig shows a strange filename during operation (ö becomes ÷, ü becomes ³, etc)

If I watch the domino-console window(verbose logging enabled), it starts the Defrag and in the very same second it reports a successful defragmentation:

    03.04.2010 21:31:48 DominoDefrag: mail\xyz.nsf Started Defrag

    03.04.2010 21:31:48 DominoDefrag: mail\xyz.nsf Completed Defrag

      I guess this could also affect files containing french letters (é, è, ê, á, à, â, …). Maybe there's some

unicode representation of the filenames available or some kind of already existing conversion function.

Unfortunately I'm not that great at C++, but I'm willing to beta-test any releases :-)

      Kind regards,

      Patrick
