using an xe:valuePicker on an xe.dialog causes UI issues

When you use the valuePicker on the dialog after you close the valuePicker the background goes away resulting in the appearance and functionality of a a non-modal type dialog. You can then save and close the dialog but parts of it seem to remain open. Further if you then re size the browser window, the background reappears causing the whole screen to be "locked".
Sample DB should be attached (but if not, tell me how to get it to you).
