RSS feeds per project

Posted by Vince Schuurman | October 18, 2007

Bruce Currier requested an RSS feed based on the project like I did for iGoogle.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I added an RSS feed on the project pages, so you can subscribe to all or just parts of the new content for a specific project.

Let me know if it works out for you.

It works, but I do have a couple of small things that could make it better. When I add one of these feeds (I use bloglines as my reader), the feed name is always Open NTF. It would be nice if it was maybe Open NTF - Project Name. Also, it would be helpful if the actual postings told what kind of info it was (i.e. New Relase, Request, Bug, Discussion, etc). Other than that I love it. I've already added 3 projects feeds.

Good idea, but I don't feel like changing that too much, since any change will cause all the rss readers to reload the content

On RSS feeds, I think one of the innovations that keeps WikiPedia alive for me is the Random link. It would be great to have an RSS feed on the CodeBin that would throw out a random item per day.
