Mark Leusink has contributed a great utility for XPages developers - XPages Debug Toolbar. It allows XPages developers to log messages that are displayed in a browser window. Additionally it displays properties from the different scopes and allows inspecting the page.

The project demonstrates community power since it extends a project from Tommy Valand and Keith Strickland also helped with logging from Java.

The toolbar/output can be displayed on the current page or in a separate window. The following screenshot shows a minimized toolbar and some test buttons that generate messages from SSJS and Java.

The next screenshot shows a second window that is opened at the same time which displays the messages when the buttons are pressed.
