Description
This widget can help you create css theme file for Lotus Expeditor and Notes. It can help to make quick edits to the current theme and provide rapid feedback and iteration.
Details
This widget works as a sidebar view.
This view shows the list of CSS files that are used by the currently enabled theme. You can expand each file to see the list of CSS rules. You may then select a CSS rule to see its definition in the editor window below.
You may use the editor window to make changes to the rule. Here we have changed the unread color to red. After making the changes you must select the “Apply” button to see your changes take effect.
If you make some changes that you want to undo you may select the “Restore” button. This will restore the theme back to its original state.
When you are finished making changes you may export your changes to your local file system by selecting the “Export” button. You may then use the exported CSS file as the basis of a new Theme. See instructions on how to create a new Theme for Lotus Notes 8.
If you have an existing CSS file that you would like to continue working on you can select the “Load” button to locate your file.
Known Limitations
The CSS Inspector tool was designed to make quick edits to the current theme and provide rapid feedback and iteration. There are many things it does not yet support such as working with images and exporting a deployable plug-in for the modified theme. If enough people find this tool useful we will implement these features soon.
