Code / Description
Notes on AD2Notes (Updated on 22April2004 to add agent log file):

AD2Notes is stripped down from an application that created a Notes database with merged records from several different "directories;" e.g., Active Directory, Notes/Domino Directory, HR Directory, etc. This assimilation of directories enabled administrators to see the content of each of source directories in on place. You'll see some of the tracks left behind; most significant, each of the AD attributes are put in Notes fields prefixed with an "a" for Active Directory and the AD attribute, SamAccountName, is used as the key.

The agent issues the LDIFDE command and waits for its completion, then updates the AD2Notes database.

Features:

- The AD2Notes database uses Keywords as configuration documents -- see the Keywords view.
- AD2Notes is setup to synchronize AD with Notes via adds, deletes, and updates.
- To minimize unread marks, matching records are updated only when values are changed.

Right now, each attribute that you include needs to have a field on the Person form. (This should obviously be generalized. A more general form could have two fields for each attribute; one for the attribute name and another for the attribute value -- hiding those with no value.)
