Development Guidelines and Best Practices
This Wiki is set up around
development guidelines and best practices and is based on the
Domino Wiki template. In this Wiki we want to capture the industry best practice standards for Lotus Notes development guidelines. Examples of those standards are naming conventions of design elements, design patterns, etc. If you are wondering why you would need to use Best Practice standards, read the
why you need best practice standards page.
User contributions
The basic content of this Wiki is based on a set of best practices that was built over the years, resulting in a collection of 'programming habits'. This does not mean that all content is the best, or only, way to get things done. In fact, we realize that content may be obsolete since new Domino versions offer better ways to get things done. By contributing to this Wiki, content will get better. If you feel reluctant to change content, feel free to add comment to that page.
Out of scope message
This wiki is soly intended for Lotus Notes development guidelines and best practices. More general guideliness (like HTML, JavaScript, etc.) which may apply to a Domino developer are not covered in this Wiki. More on best practices can be found for example on the IBM developerworks news article
best practices within projects. Other Lotus related Wikis can be found on the
IBM website. See this Wikis
external links page for other Lotus Best Practice sites that may be of interest to you.
